As most know, on this day many school teachers make their students write thank you cards for veterans. Mrs. Crowley asked her husband about the card idea and he said that students shouldn’t mindlessly write “thank you for your service” and that students should take the time to think of what they are thanking veterans for. With his statement in mind, Mrs. Crowley created sentence starters. Students would pick one of the starters and finish the sentence with something meaningful to them. The students seemed enthusiastic about this activity and enjoyed showing there sentences for a photo in front of the American flag.
